The Robarts Library expansion features a set of distinctive connections intricately integrated throughout the structure. The project proudly boasts the inclusion of two steel towers, one on the north and another on the south side, with a remarkable 50-meter span of suspended steel framing connecting these imposing structures. The team faced challenges with the open concept design of the structure and large spans, causing extreme load implications at all connection points. Alma Group was able to provide not only connection design services but steel structure consultation services to the entire design team, ensuring the reliability of the structure but also constructability and safety.
